The Artistic Director of the Italian Global Series Festival, Marco Spagnoli, has officially announced that Kevin Spacey will be a guest of honor at this year’s edition of the festival. The two-time Academy Award and Golden Globe winner will be presented with the Maximo Excellence Award on Monday, June 23, at the historic Galli Theatre in Rimini — a prestigious accolade that recognizes outstanding contributions to the arts.

The festival notes that Spacey was “one of the first Academy Award-winning actors to lead a long-running television series, marking a pioneering moment in the history of television and setting a new standard in serialized storytelling.”

In addition to the award ceremony, a public conversation with Kevin Spacey is scheduled for Wednesday, June 25, in Riccione.

The Italian Global Series Festival, taking place in Rimini and Riccione from June 21 to 28, aims to become a key international event for the audiovisual industry — a unique platform to celebrate the power and complexity of global storytelling through series.

The festival is promoted and organized by APA – Audiovisual Producers Association, with the support of the Italian Ministry of Culture, Cinecittà, SIAE, the Emilia-Romagna Region, and the Municipalities of Rimini and Riccione.
