Kevin, I hope you really are reading these comments. You are one of the best actors of our time, hands down. Every single piece of your work is brilliant, I just love to watch you act. We’ve all made mistakes in life, we’ve all done things that we’re ashamed of, and if you’ve done some of the things of which you are accused, it doesn’t for one moment diminish your brilliance, your creative talent, or your essential goodness and worth as a person – and I hope it doesn’t diminish your strength. Our mistakes don’t define who we are.
I was taught that mistakes make us stronger, that we should learn from them and not beat ourselves or anyone else up for them. But now society would rather destroy people than support their learning, growth and success. Guilty until proven innocent. What a world. I think public stake-burnings make people feel superior in some way. I myself have been through a very public fall from grace, involving press and career loss, so I know how you feel. They say what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, and I hope you are using this time for reflection and personal growth.
No matter what the self-righteous, perpetually angry public does to you, you are, and always will be, one of the greats. Hang in there, your true fans still love you, even if they don’t have the courage in the madding crowds to say it. I wish you peace.
