Dear Kevin,

It’s midnight, and I find myself trying to write this letter to you. There’s really nothing worse than staring at a blank page for too long. So, I thought I’d reach out and share some of my thoughts about what’s been going on with you and Guy Pearce.

I saw your response to Guy when he said you “targeted” him during the making of LA Confidential. You told him to “grow up” and called him “not a victim.” It seems a little messy between you two, doesn’t it? I can only imagine the stress you’re under, especially with everything else going on in your life.

I know the weight of losing a home can feel unbearable, and it’s not just about the physical space; it’s about memories, comfort, and the sense of safety we cling to. I wish I could find the right words to make it better, to remind you that this moment doesn’t define you. You are so much more than the walls you’ve lost.

You once mentioned that Guy came to Georgia after LA Confidential to spend time with you while you were working on Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.

I recall Guy talking about not believing in God, but he does think we are all connected. That really got me thinking. It’s true, isn’t it? In our darkest moments, we often find unexpected connections with others, and sometimes that’s what helps pull us through.

I grew up listening to southern gospel music, and it always had a way of soothing my soul during turbulent times. I recently stumbled upon a video of “Midnight Cry” by Guy Penrod  (Multitudes Church performance), made for younger folks and families. It brought back memories of that moment you had about your theatrical home while sitting on that bench in the park. If you want to check it out, here’s the link:   Midnight Cry – Guy Penrod

I just wanted to share these thoughts and this piece of music with you. I hope it brings even a flicker of comfort amidst everything you’re experiencing. Remember, this too shall pass, and those connections—old friends, music, memories—can help light the way.

Take care,

Cathy
