Hi Kevin,

I’ve never written a note like this before, but I just felt compelled to reach out. I wanted to tell you that I support you as a person and an artist. I have admired your work for decades.

From The Usual Suspects and American Beauty to House of Cards, your performances have always been sharp, layered, and unforgettable. But more than the talent, what’s always come through is depth. You seem to have a willingness to explore complex people without apology or a false front. And, I think that’s rare.

I’m about to turn 50 this year (a young 50, LoL) and I have a 25-year-old amazing daughter. I hope to get engaged this year. It took me a while to find myself, but life certainly humbles you over time. It gives you perspective. And I believe that no one should be locked out of their future forever. You deserve the chance to work again, to create, and to be seen for your full self, not just a moment in time. I just really hope you are doing well. 

I’m not starstruck by fame and I never have been. If I ever did meet you, I think I’d genuinely enjoy the conversation or even a friendship (not that I expect it). So, I figured I would write and tell you that you still matter and I am certain others feel the same. I really hope to see you in new projects in the future.
